High Power Signal Limiters
High Power Limiters are an essential protection circuit for sensitive RF & microwave receivers. Receivers are used to detect low level signals and therefore require high gain, sensitive circuits at the input to reduce the noise floor. Due to the sensitive nature, these circuits are often susceptible to damage if exposed to high level signals. Limiters will not degrade the sensitivity of the receiver and will prevent overloading by allowing RF signals that are below a certain threshold to pass through, but larger signals exceeding the threshold will be increasingly attenuated. These limiters are designed to manage continuous wave (CW) RF input power levels and significantly higher peak power levels that may be the result of short duration power spikes.
